Surgery
My surgical background and further training as a scientist have given me deeper insight into the most urgent and critical unmet needs of patients. In the Cromer lab at UCSF I will utilize synthetic biology tools to construct and control cell behavioral circuits by manipulating their communication networks and regulating gene expression via exogenous inputs. This will bridge the gap between bench to bedside by bringing innovative solution for more effective and safer therapies. My goal is to insert logic into cells, thereby making precision medicine a reality for everyone regardless of their socioeconomic status, color, gender and race. Outside the lab you can find me cooking, meditating, watching movies and exploring San Francisco.
