    Biography

    Margaret is a second-year PhD student in the UC Berkeley–UCSF Bioengineering program, where she is developing in vivo genome-editing strategies for the treatment of lysosomal storage disorders. Before graduate school, Margaret spent four years at Beam Therapeutics advancing CRISPR base-edited stem cell therapies for sickle cell disease. She earned my bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and her research interests span genome engineering, gene therapy, synthetic biology, and regenerative medicine.
